Stability Mechanism of Laser-induced Fluorinated Super-hydrophobic Coating in Alkaline Solution

Abstract Great attention has been focused on super-hydrophobic surfaces due to their fantastic applications. Fluoride chemicals are widely used fabricate convenience, simplicity, and high efficiency. Previous research made extensively efforts corrosion resistance of fluorinated in corrosive media. Nevertheless, rare papers the underlying reasons anticorrosion property stability mechanism coatings alkaline solution. Therefore, this work aims reveal these mechanisms copper samples strong solution (pH 13). Through characterization surface wettability morphology, laser-induced retained excellent after soaking for 4 h. measurement chemical compositions, were proposed. Importantly, hydroxyl ion (OH − ) can further promote hydrolysis reaction improve density bonding strength fluoride molecules. Finally, electrochemical experiments (PDP EIS tests) conducted validate rationality our proposed conclusions.
